Jim Levitas
Co-Founder and Partner
Prior to co-founding Lion Equity, Jim spent seven years at Platinum Equity, most recently as a Principal of the firm. Jim joined Platinum Equity in 2000 and was responsible for the structuring and execution of some of Platinum’s most important acquisition and divestiture transactions. Jim served on the Board of several of Platinum’s portfolio companies, providing operational and strategic guidance.
Prior to joining Platinum, Jim was a Senior Associate in Investment Banking for Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, an international investment bank. At Houlihan Lokey, Jim specialized in advising middle market companies on M&A transactions across a wide range of industries including manufacturing, business services, healthcare, telecommunications and distribution.
Jim also worked in the Corporate Finance group of Bank of America Securities where he was involved in the analysis, structuring and execution of M&A transactions in the gaming, entertainment and healthcare industries.
Jim started his career as a Financial Analyst in the M&A group at John Nuveen & Co. in Chicago. At Nuveen, Jim was a member of the firm’s healthcare industry group, providing financial advisory services to hospitals, managed care organizations, long term care facilities, and other healthcare related organizations.
Jim received a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and a MBA from the Anderson School at the University of California at Los Angeles.
